ANNUAL REPORT (2020-2021)

The “ShahidSmarak” Collegeestablished in 1970 as in the memory of
valiant martyrs of this land.The college was taken over by the “Government
on May 27, 1981”.Our College redesignated as “ShaheedSmarak Govt. P.G.
College, Tigaon” in this session 2020-21 by Directorate Higher Education,
Haryana. Since then, the College has made rapid progress and I hope it would
touch new heights in the coming years positively, under the chairman ship of
Principal Dr. M.K. Gupta. I hereby submit the Annual Report of this college for
the session 2020-2021. I am fortunate to be associated with this institution.I
deem it privilege to present before you the Annual Report of this college of
the session2020-2021.
COLLEGE MOTTO :-
‘तमसोमाज्योतिर्गमय’, ‘Take Me from Darkness to Light’ is the motto
of our College. It symbolises our sincere efforts to enlighten our students
through quality education. Besides class-room teaching, we strive to impart
education through various other means, including Panel Discussions, Debates, Declamations,
Extension Lectures etc. Students are also provided opportunities to participate
in Athletic, Cultural and Co-Curricular activities. The College makes a sincere
effort to ensure all-round development of the students.
1.
Our
college is upgraded from U.G. status to P.G. status as we have started
M.A(Pol.Sc.) from the session 2017-2018.
2.
We
started M.Sc (Computer Science) from the session 2019-20.
3.
We
have started M.A. (Hindi) from this
session 2020-21.
4. Govt. P.G. CollegeTigaon,
Faridabad, was upgraded from ‘C’ Grade to ‘B’Grade with C.G.P.A
of 2.10 during the session 2015-2016.
5. Our college is now at par
with other colleges in Faridabad District. Being a Rural College, under the
administration of Dr.M.K. Gupta, Principal, with young staff members, is
really a great achievement.
COLLEGE BUILDING AND
INFRASTRUCTURE:-
The College has a beautiful campus with well
ventilated class rooms, girls common rooms and lawns. We have also well
equipped laboratories for Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Psychology,
Geography and English Language.There are two functional Music rooms, two Smart
class rooms & one Seminar Hall etc. The college has a spacious and well
stocked library. The campus is fully under the surveillance of CCTV Cameras. In
order to enhance security barbed wire has been placed all along the boundary
wall. Five Biometric Machines have been upgraded to R.D. Services of ware.
COMPUTER LABS :-
There are 4 Computer Labs in the college. The computer
labs are equipped with Internet Lease Line (2 Mbps Speed) and WI-FI facility
and networking of computers is done. A total of 102 computers and 5 laser
printers are there in labs. Each computer lab has LCD projector installed for
PowerPoint Presentations. The labs are well maintained to run practical works.
The students conduct their computer practical under the observation of faculty
of the department of Computer Science.Reliance Jio free Wi-Fi mailing campus
enabled installation.
PHYSICS LAB
:-
This lab is well equipped with various items like, Two
Computer system, Fly Wheel, Electrical Vibrator, Solar Cell, Spectrometre,
Telescope, Prism, Power Supply, Polarimeter, Sonometer, L.C.R Circuits, R.C
Coupled Amplifier, Sodium Lamp, Photo Cells, C.R.O, Four Probe Apparatus etc.
CHEMISTRY
LAB :-
This lab is also well equipped with a number of
chemicals and different types of apparatus, Burners, different types of test
tubes, Gas Cylinder, Refrigerator for keeping some chemicals, Oven, Hydrogen
Cylinder etc.
ENGLISH
LANGUAGE LAB:-
The college has a well equipped and fully functional Modern
English Language Lab. It has 25 computers with all the necessary equipments and
accessories to accommodate 25 students at a time.
SMART CLASS ROOM :-
The college hastwo smart class rooms
which is fully equipped with the sitting capacity of 50 plus.
TEACHING FACULTY :-
Currently, the College has 28 regular faculty members.
For the Job-Oriented Courses, we have another 3 Guest Lecturers, 8 Visiting
Faculty members, 2 Computer Lab Instructors, 1 Language Lab Instructor.
Fourteen of our
regular faculty have a Ph.D. and 14 have an M.Phil, the three Guest Lectures,
two have Ph.D. and one has M. Phil.
Degrees. During this year 5 new faculty members have joined the college.
Dr.SandhyaSood,
Dr. Anil Kumar Ojha, Dr.SapnaSachdeva, Ms.VandanaKumari currently comprise the
college council member. I thank them for their co-operation and diligence.
NON-TEACHING STAFF :-
The College Office is being looked after by one Clerk
and there are also another 3 Clerks working on D.C Rate.
We have
sanctioned posts of 1 Sr. Librarian, 1 Restorer and 1 Library Attendant. All
three posts are vacant. A Restorer has been employed on D.C Rate.
In the
Laboratory staff, we have 1 L.A, 2 J.L.A are working on regular basis and 4 L.A
are working on D.C rate. Members of the laboratory staff help in looking after
the office also.
The college has sanctioned post 2 Peon, 1 Safai –
Karamchari and 3 Chowkidars and 1 Mali. At present 1 SafaiKaramchari and 1 Mali,
2 peon are working on regular basis and also 2 SafaiKaramchari, 1 Peon, 2
Chowkidar and 1 Mali are working on D.C rate.
COLLEGE BURSAR :-
Ms.VandnaBatra, Assistant Professor in Mathematics,
has been working sincerely and efficiently as the Bursar of the college since
September 2019.

(RASTRIYA UCCHTAR SHIKSHA ABHIYAN)
:-
We had received One Crore
Fifty Five Lakhs Two Thousand Two Hundred & Seventy Four Rupees
(1,55,02,274/-) under Rusa Grant from which we constructed one Seminar Hall
& some other Renovation work in the college. On other hand, we purchased 45
computers ,7 UPS, 6 printers, 2 Digital Podium, 242 chairs for Seminar Hall,
Visitor Office Tables, Office Chairs, Seminar Hall Executive Sofa Set, Sixty
Benches and also 50 C.C.T.V. Camera’s
were installed for Surveillance. Despite of this, a sound proofing work also
done by this grant. So the Rusa Grant become very fruitful for college
development.
2. CULTRAL
ACTIVITIES :-
Cultural Fest “Surmangalam” was
organized on 14th Feb, 2021. Our Student Kavita of B.Com II secured
1st position in Cartooning, 2nd Position in Painting and
3rd Position in Poster Making.

via online to create a pure, nutritional and medicinal atmosphere.
6. YOUTH
RED CROSS& HEALTH CLUBACTIVITIES:-

Three times Covid-19
testing camps were organized in the college campus with the help of District Administration.
·
Hand sanitizers were
placed in the examination centers, class rooms, corridors and various places in
the college campus.
·
Face- masks were
distributed among staff members as well as college students.
·
Social distancing also
maintained by the college discipline committee during offline classes and exams
time also.
·
45 above age professors
and other staff members are encouraged to get vaccinated.
·
Students are encouraged
to be vigilant and cautious towards covid-19.
·
The list of plasma
donors of different blood groups was circulated through whatsapp among
different groups.

SCHOLARSHIP CELL:-
The Co-Ordinator and Nodal Officer of this Cell is Ms. Priyanka.
The Amount of P.F.M.S, 53,48,000/- was directly debited in the Bank Accounts of
S.C students. The amount of Rs. 7,64,000/- (Free Books Amount) + 45,84,000/- (Consolidated
Amount) = 53,48,000/- was received for S.C students and total amount disburses
Rs. 53,48,000/- in session
2020-2021.

of Air Pollution” was presented in the Interdistrict Science Exhibition (Interdisciplinary)
held on 8th feb.2021 by the Chemistry Department.

Two students of
Psychology participated in District level Science Exhibition and presented a
model “Healthy vs Unhealthy lifestyle during Pandemic”.

:-
· The
library grant of Rupees 5,50,000/- was received for the session 2020-2021.
Books, Almirahs and Air Conditioners were purchased under this grant.

and Traffic Interpretation Centre:-

Nature and Traffic
Interpretation Centre was established in college w.e.f. 7th Jan 2021 in room
no. 6. The Convener of the Nature Interpretation Centre is MsEkta (Chemistry)
and the Convener of Traffic Interpretation Centre is MrYogesh (Political
science).

Painting competition
was held on 16th Jan, 2021 on the theme “Nature and Traffic Rules”
in which twenty-five students participated from different streams. The result
of competition was Mr Mahesh of B.Sc 1st secure 1st
position, MsSheetalof B.B.A. 3rd secure 2nd positionand MrKrishanKaushikof B.A. 1st secure
