Code of Conduct for Faculty

1. Professional Integrity and Responsibility

  • Faculty must demonstrate the highest standards of professional ethics, honesty, integrity, and fairness in teaching, research, and administration.

  • Maintain transparency in academic evaluation, examination, and grading systems.

  • Avoid conflict of interest in all academic and administrative matters.

  • Refrain from engaging in any activity that brings disrepute to the institution or compromises its values.

2. Teaching and Student Engagement

  • Be punctual and regular in conducting lectures, tutorials, practicals, and examinations.

  • Use updated and relevant teaching methods and materials to ensure effective learning.

  • Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students, regardless of caste, gender, religion, disability, or background.

  • Encourage critical thinking, innovation, and active participation among students.

3. Research and Academic Contributions

  • Uphold integrity in all research activities; avoid plagiarism, falsification, or manipulation of data.

  • Properly acknowledge sources and give credit to collaborators and contributors.

  • Avoid misuse of institutional resources for personal gain.

  • Publish research in peer-reviewed and credible journals.

4. Collegial Conduct and Institutional Loyalty

  • Collaborate respectfully with colleagues in academic and administrative tasks.

  • Maintain confidentiality in official matters.

  • Avoid discrimination or harassment of any kind towards colleagues or students.

  • Promote the reputation and academic standing of the college in all public and professional interactions.

5. Compliance with Laws and Regulations

  • Abide by the rules, regulations, and policies of the Government, affiliating university, and regulatory bodies (e.g., UGC/AICTE).

  • Refrain from participating in or promoting political or communal activities within the campus.

  • Do not engage in private tuition or coaching unless specifically permitted by governing rules.

6. Use of Institutional Resources

  • Use institutional property, resources, and funds responsibly and only for legitimate academic and administrative purposes.

  • Prevent misuse or unauthorized use of college facilities or resources.

7. Attendance and Leave

  • Adhere strictly to the attendance and leave policies as notified by the institution/government.

  • Apply for leave in advance and ensure academic duties are managed during absence.

8. Dress Code and Behaviour

  • Dress in a manner that reflects professionalism and respect for the institution.

  • Exhibit courteous, disciplined, and dignified behaviour at all times.

9. Participation in Institutional Development

  • Contribute actively to curriculum development, departmental planning, student mentorship, and institutional quality initiatives like NAAC/NBA accreditations.

  • Participate in professional development programs, workshops, seminars, and faculty training.

10. Disciplinary Action

  • Any violation of this Code of Conduct will attract disciplinary action as per government and institutional service rules, which may include warnings, suspension, or termination, depending on the severity of the misconduct.
