World Tourism Day

On 27th September 2025, on the occasion of World Tourism Day, the Department of Tourism at Shaheed Smarak PG Government College, Tigaon organized various activities.
This year’s theme was “Tourist Attractions of India.”
On this occasion, a quiz competition was organized for the students, featuring questions based on India’s major tourist destinations, cultural heritage sites, and attractions. The students participated enthusiastically and showcased their knowledge related to tourism.
In addition, a chart-making competition was also held, where students presented creative and informative charts depicting various tourist destinations of India. These charts reflected the students’ creativity and their understanding of the diversity of Indian tourism.
The main objective of the program was to create awareness about the importance of tourism among students and to encourage them towards Sustainable Tourism. On this occasion, faculty members appreciated the students’ efforts and motivated them to consider tourism as a foundation for cultural unity and economic development.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Preeti Raina, Head of the Department of Tourism.
Principal C. S. Vashisht congratulated the department and the students for the successful organization of the event and highlighted the role of tourism as a means of promoting global peace, prosperity, and cultural unity.
