Report on Presentation Activity by Tourism Students
On 3rd and 4th oct the Department of Tourism, Shaheed Smarak PG Government College, Tigaon, organized a Presentation Activity for students pursuing Tourism as Major, Minor, or MDC subject. The main objective of this activity was to enhance students’ understanding of India’s and the world’s prominent tourist destinations and to develop their presentation and communication skills.
Each student was assigned a specific tourist destination, which they had to research in depth and present before the class. The presentations covered a wide range of destinations including historical monuments, cultural sites, natural attractions, adventure tourism spots, and pilgrimage centres.
Students prepared assignments,charts, and visual aids to make their presentations informative and engaging. They discussed the geographical features, historical background, tourist attractions, accessibility, accommodation facilities, and tourism potential of their assigned destinations.
The activity not only provided a platform for experiential learning but also helped students gain insights into destination management, promotion, and sustainability aspects of tourism. Faculty members assessed the presentations based on content accuracy, clarity, creativity, and presentation skills.
The event concluded with feedback from Dr. Preeti Raina, Head of the Department of Tourism, who appreciated the students’ efforts and encouraged them to continue exploring innovative approaches to promote tourism responsibly.
Overall, the presentation activity was highly informative, interactive, and beneficial in strengthening the students’ knowledge and confidence in the field of tourism.
